New forum post: This could either be Mite damage, or a fungal or bacterial infection. I would begin spraying with flowers of sulphur once a week, or with liquid copper-Wally's from Mitre10, Palmers or Oderings is the best one. If that doesnt seem to start working after atleast a month, try a Miticide, or try spraying the miticide a couple of days after the sulphur... more...

New forum post: I have two mandarin trees that were planted mid 2010,they have some branches with large spiky thorns and some without. It apears that the fruit is only growing on the branches without thorns. Should I prune the branches with thorns off? The trees have approx 1/2 of their branches with thorns and 1/2 without. more...

New forum post: Hi, in have a question and any help would be great. I have two lebanese cucumbers growing and now doing quite well in terms of greenery, they have been having heaps of female flowers with their baby cucumbers for about 2 weeks - but they shrivel and die because they have no male flowers. I have been hand pollinating my zucchini next to them as we d... more...

All I do is plant them, water them, and remove the tips of shoots (now and again) to keep them under control and so the plant does not spread out too much. New forum post: Try something other than broads, any other bean will grow happily in the height of summer, especially when soil temperatures are up. Try Purple King Pole Beans from Yates, they are really nice and the purple pigment in them does wonders if you eat them raw. Or for something a bit different, Borlotti Red Rooster beans are great for pot culture or o... more...

New forum post: You are exactly right. What another page does on Facebook, is anyone who wants to can just throw any excess produce on the page for free to whoever wants it. I prefer to split it, say i have a harvest of 30 corn ears, i restrict it to 5 per household. Others do that too. If you wanted, you could become a manager in SSNZ, for this sort of thing in ... more...

New forum post: There could be a lot of factors that could contribute to how they are to fair up. Usually you attribute that to organisms that start to live within your plant box, or chemicals that mix well with the rainfall. You best bet is to have things checked just so you would know that your plants are not going to be affected by it, at least not too much. more...
