Is there any type of seaweed that is harmful?

Is there any kind of seaweed that is harmful to the soil? I mean some fruit trees don't like too much sodium so I'd be washing the kelps to rid some of the salt. Is there anything else I should be careful with such as certain types of seaweed?
Cheers,

Yes seaweed is very good for the plants...also make up a soup of seaweed and pour or spray over the foliage, this is a good deterrent for curly leaf on the prunus species (nectarines and peaches) Have not heard of any being toxic to plants but that does not say something does exist that could be . Varieties around NZ are fairly safe I think cheers,
