strange plant can anyone help? 

We have a plant that has grow up and over out passionfruit vine. It has leaves like a pumpkin. With some sort of growth bit like a butternut but the bottom part a lot more circular. the colour of this is green with white stripes like a watermelon. the skin is soft. can anyone identify this plant for me??

Looks like some species of gourd. They harden up and can be carved when dried.

it's either some sort of probe... or one of the thousands of varieties of gourd... i think the last one...
