My mother-in-law helped me make some delicious tomato sauce, but alas after bottling all of it, we have disovered it is far too runny. Can I thicken it up? Is it worth re-bottling?

um, now, firstly i have very little preserving experience, however i am a trained chef.

i would say it is worth re-bottling, since its runny you could easily tip it into a pot to have another crack at it.

you can easily thicken it up with a variety of methods. you can reduce it - which will intensify the flavours or add something to help thicken it. thickeners-wise, im unsure as to how youd approach it - something like arrowroot or cornflour you know?

but yeah, im sure its doable and worth it, just no idea how :P

arrowroot or cornflour = slimey sauce...

go for reducing, this will make it taste more sour, so add more sugar.. can also add diced apples to give thicker consistency
