I hear of people joining gardener swap initiatives where the either swap seedlings/cuttings (tomato seedlings for strawberry runners etc) or also produce (apples for plums etc)
Can anybody point me in the direction on where to find these groups? I live in West Auckland.

I'm not sure about gardening swaps but have you tried joining your local Freecycle group? They often have plants advertised, if not you can request what you want. Just check out freecycle.org

Try contacting Kathrina Muller at <saimuller@clear.net.nz>, she is the chairperson of the Auckland Seed Savers. They may swap produce etc too. Otherwise, join a local Gardeners Club, they arent all talk you know!
