Garden description:
We are moving house in roughly 3 weeks so I have to plant everything in pots and we won't be able to transfer much to the ground when we get there as we are hoping to build on the back of the section.
Also temperatures and weather here is still a bit temperamental, so I've kept all our plants inside, in my dining room window to germinate (on the dining table with the other pot plants, best sun in the house!) and some have had to move outside when they got too big ie peas.
So much of the table is now given over to plants we can't eat dinner at it! But it is only temporary and we will be grateful come summer when we have beautiful, fresh, homegrown veges to eat!
Also we are pretty strapped for cash as you can imagine with buying our first home, a young baby and another on the way!
So I've had to be very thrifty. So far our garden this year has cost us a total of $6 and I'm very proud to still be adding to it on the cheap!
Because we are building a new house within the year hopefully, and because we are doing it on such a tight budget, there will likely be very little left over for landscaping and gardening. I have a dream of a garden where everything is practical and useful, i.e. all veges/fruit/herbs and I know fruit trees take years to grow and give fruit so therefore I'm starting now by trying to start off some fruit trees like avocado, nectarine & mandarin from seed.
