Garden description:
I love my vege garden! My partner 'S' helped me build it, surrounded by recycled sleepers, and filled it with purchased superdirt, compost, topsoil in layers, over an old lawn spread with blood and bone and lime, smothered in newspapers. We had to put a fence around to keep the Spanador who loves to dig out!~ we used garden stakes and chicken wire and S made a simple gate. He also cleverly cut walkways out of free pallets and moved the slats closer, these were placed in a cross over the vege garden to creat 4 good sized areas to plant. All up it was quite cheap (except the purchased composts) We have 4 children ranging from 9 - 14, they each got a patch and after just 6 months have produced broccoli, lettuce, celery, parsly, marigolds, lupins, carrots, cauliflower, dwarf sunflowers, sugar snap peas, cabbage, thornless raspberries, currants & blackberries!!!! this has been such a fun, educational and help with the food budget project.

Blood and Bone
Posted 23 Jul 10 11:30 AM
Yes well, Spanador, Boxer, bit-ser what ever the mix they just love blood and bone don't they! I've had to give it up as no mater how well you incorporate it the dogs just dig up every thing trying to get to it.
