Garden description: Since my family moved here 25 years ago, this garden has been in place. As a child my mum would plant maize so my sister and I could play in it. It has always provided us with fresh vegetables, berries, herbs and fruit. In recent years we have stopped tilling the soil and encouraged self seeding. Now lettuce is beginning to invade our lawn and weeds are almost a thing of the past. Everything we grow we eat and what we can't eat we share with our neighbours. Our next step is to try and reestablish some fruit trees, as all the old ones died off.
