Plum tree - winter, void of fruit!

Once these plums are ripe we have so many we don't know what to do with them!

Hi, can you tell me more about your chickens. I'm interested to know what breed they are and how well they lay. Also, what sort of feed do you give them?

Our hens are a miscellaneous bunch, by far the most prolific layer, a big egg every day over winter, has been Heny Penny the Brown Shaver.
We get a lot of good laying from our 5 black bantam/large grey bird cross (Will look up the breed), they only took a few days off over winter!
The big speckled 'plods', very large decorative birds obviously bred for meat, took a couple of months off in June and July, but are back into it now.But these two will probably be first into the freezer after our self bred roosters.
We feed lots of household vege scraps, plus they loooove any leftover catfood! + 3 or 4 hours paddock foraging every day. However in Winter we also supplemented with wheat or pellets at both ends of the day.

Hi There,
I too am interested in chooks. What size and space do you need for say 4 chooks and how do they get on with your cats.
Thanks
Wild :)
